The organizers of the 35th edition of Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF) have taken a number of foreign guests of the event to visit Ghazali Cinema Town.
The guests, mainly A-list film directors, producers, actors, and critics, as well as some young talents participating at the event visited the town on Tuesday.
Talent Campus students from across the world, Festival Director Reza Mirkarimi, Talent Campus Manager Reza Miri, as well as International Affairs Manager Amir Esfandiari accompanied the guests during the visit which was a part of a festival’s feature named “Tehran walking tours”.
Affiliated with the IRIB and covering an area of 10 hectares, the Ghazali Cinema Town was founded in 1971, partially simulating old Tehran.
The town contains a range of state and historic buildings, streets, as well as places resembling Tehran of more than 100 years ago.
Decorated by Italian decorators, the exterior decoration of the structures and locations imitates that of the original ones using extant pictures.
The town has several sections, including Laleh-Zar Avenue, the Municipality, Old Toopkhaneh Square, ancient districts of Tehran, Pamenar, and bazaar.
Established in 1982, the Fajr International Film Festival celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.
Since its establishment, the Fajr International Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.
Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.
The 35th FIFF is slated for April 21-28 in Tehran.
